OLD MEDIA Vs NEW MEDIA

In the third session, the topic was about the Old media Vs New media. In this concept the way of representation and communication is upgraded. But the concept is the same, “Media” people starts exploring in depth of the media that leads the generation of new media.
The name remediation itself says that the technology has no end. The people keep on generating innovative things. This has a role towards the society. Since the society also has a reason for technological remediation. The other things are to focus on the new media are Digitization and Convergence. Through this process, it grows with an infinite height

The main use of the new media is the digitization and convergence; through this we can know lot more in any of the form. For e.g..., when we are at home, television updates us all the information or else internet updates everything whatever the people needs. When we are out of our residence mobile phones updates us, when there is no internet in the phone, we come to know about multimedia messaging service (MMS), short message service (SMS), these are the source that keeps us updated.
How the old media is different from new media. For instance before twenty five years there were no electronic books. If they want to have a reference they should move to library and refer but these days like e-books and internet has come for references and all purposes. To conclude media is like the daily routine days which keeps on moving where there is no end to that it keeps on going, like that is the media it can’t be stopped it keeps on generating new ideas and technology which are useful for our daily essentials.

VIRTUAL REALITY

In this, we are going to see about the virtual reality and the way it has perceived through different persons. According to my perception, the virtual reality is not the matter of outer world, or the society but it is present in every individual mind’s. For example people around the world know something about the extinct animal, let us consider dinosaurs but they don’t know about that physical structure and importance of that animal. Everyone got an idea about the animal after seeing the movie Jurassic Park. Only in this movie, they have made the dinosaur into virtual reality though some camera techniques and they made it move through motion capture techniques.
Now we can know that the reality can be sometimes being real or representing to be reality. According to some individual the virtual reality can be thought and structured in the mind but it can be implemented towards the society. Our mind is one of the creative parts in our human system, which does not have any rules or conditions, or there is no bound, it can think in all the directions. They can develop infinite things and objects with no restriction. According to Jaron Lainer, says that “The Imagination is dead: only the technology is real. The visions are bereft, but the point is that the technology will supposedly, let us experience them as if they were real”. This can be accepted up to certain extend. Since the technology gives the root cause for the reality, then what is the root cause for the technology? It is only the people are the root cause for every technological resource. We can’t say that the imagination is dead; some people may think that if their imagination has not yet come in reality it is dead. We cannot say that every ones imagination is coming true. In some situations it can be only being imagined that only will be better than reality.

CYBERSPACE

We can define Cyberspace in different ways, for instance the ability of thinking in different perspective in our mind is to be Cyberspace. It is an unbound; where there is no light and water, it is fully an imaginary world where only our virtual objects exist. The imagination can be of any type - color, size, shape, gesture, appearance, ways of moving etc...,
This is the place where an individual animate their dreams. They give a physical appearance to their imagination only in this place. Even their animating methods have different ways in media is to reach the public.
Everyone has their own cyberspace in their mind. Generally, our brain makes us to imagine the structure, what ever we trying to obtain is more powerful process than other. In the session two, is the birth and death of the cyberspace. In that it says that, “These days the boundaries between the reality and cyberspace are increasingly blurred and the activities on the web are becoming more wider and even integrated with reality…..” we cant say everything are obtained into reality, since its their dependency. Everything is caused only by the thoughts; thoughts are the one which moves faster than any other thing. The ability to divert their mind is done only through this thought.
In cybernetics as said by Weiner “the science of control and communication, in the animal and the machine” likewise, creating an object in cyberspace is different from producing that in the real form. The both can be executed, but it is purely based on an individual’s efficiency.
