Commercialization and the Network

In this lecture we had a discussion about the types of Networking, Intellectual property rights and Creative commons. In this topic networking, it has about the commercialization of network, non-commercialization of network. In the commercialization of network it is all about the sites making money websites like Amazon and eBay and non commercialization of network are the list viewed in the lecture like ‘Corporate website, E-Commerce, E-tailing, pop-up adverts, spam, pay to view..,.’ These are the sites that helps to know about the technological aspects that are participating in the networking society and making money. In this technological evolution everything has come up with the all facilities that actively participate in the role of digital communicating. According to Lawrence Lessig says “Code is Law” and describes digital communication consists of three layers namely physical layer, code layer and content layer.
“Physical layer, which is the network through communications travels, and communications devices are connected to one another. Code layer is constituted by the code that operates by communication hard ware devices and protocols through which the devices interconnect, and the content layer is about the content that is delivered through the communication infrastructure”.
Intellectual Property Rights in this “ It presumes that original forms of creative expression can belong to individuals, who have both a moral right to ownership and a legitimate economic rights to material benefit from the use of these ideas and works by others as an incentive to create further original works.” But when we compare copyright with new media there are several complexes issues that have changed the copyright law like internet, photocopying the original one is copied without spending huge money. Likewise we cannot assume that everything is transferred easily there are some which are been taken into consideration without the owner copyrights it can’t be shared.

News and Technology

In the lecture 5, we had discussion about the News and Technology; News can be said as a piece of new information can be shared to audience with a short time. In this process, there are different types of communicating news, it can be an oral, written, computer mediated news by some form or the other it is getting transmitted to audience. In the past it usually takes some time to deliver the information. But written form or printed form will be having a original content and it will reliable, than peer to peer it is sometimes reliable and sometime it doesn’t since by communicating one to another it goes like a network and there is a possibility of change in the topic. According to my views, News is an activity happening all over the solar system, and the way every individual react towards it. Since, some people tend to have more interest on particular topic of information and for others it may vary, it is the ones individual opinion whether they perceive or not. I dint assume that nobody is watching news but everyone in the society looks at the news but they don’t keep in memory about what they don’t have interest.

We can see in the above picture the word news itself is a colourful one it gives all sorts of information at a particular time to everyone, whether it is good or bad. Likewise technology is now one of the powerful tool to everyone life. In today’s life everyone is surrounded by technology. The news is transferred all over the world within seconds is through technology.

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is mainly involved in the process are the connectivity, community, co-creation and conversation. It has come up with all the possible impacts that everyone can develop their own skills. According to Tim O’Reilly Web 2.0 is defined as “the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform, chief among those rules is this: Build applications that harness network effects to get better the more people use them or harnessing the collective intelligence”. The most aspects web 2.0 is easy to use we can add or edit it in a specific site which we wish to do so, it is user focused. In this advertisement we are Web 2.0 it shows all the physical appearance that means everyone can use it and when we see in depth of the picture, we are able to view all the ages from the childhood to aged audience everyone can interact easily and explore it in their own way. The other important aspects are money making, several sites like eBay Amazon etc.., like when we see the video, Machine is us/ing us in this we can interpret in either way like at some circumstances we are using the machine like when we want to edit a photo or a video we are trying to use it as individual views. But on the other extend machine is using when we move into cool websites while signing up we should accept the terms and conditions. So both has its own power we cannot evaluate specifically.

INFORMATION AND THE ORGANISM:

It is all about the upgrading of technology in surviving organism. These many years, people were using the technology, but now the technology has come to live artificially in the real life of the people. Technologies seem to overcome all the materialistic objects in the world.

It is like our knowledge, how we obtain from the childhood to the later is like the technology it keeps on growing. The main part in this is all about the emergence outcome of the new industries, factories, and companies that give more ideas to upgrade the technology. The other one is the convergence that leads to innovative technology. However, making the technology work is other big way process, than our mind. Since our mind can think beyond the lines, but technology does what ever we feed through program. The use of technology is an easier way to relate our ideas; it allows us to take a decision providing different ideas in different structure. If our mind thinks about a particular thing and does not divert from that subject means the technology guides, us the various option about easier ways to be solved.

The other notable subject is the second life, it is equal to another life in the virtual environment where you can create or animate your avatar and can do all sorts of activities you tend to do. In this you can create your avatar as your wish not only like human it can be of any appearance like animal, superhero etc…,other aspects in this are the you can chat with other and you can move to other city. According to my views we can spend a time knowing that but it is not that much useful exploring. Since in this there is no scores, life or rules like a game. It should be challenging then only we will be able to move with more enthusiasm. The important factor in this is the character appearance; it can create as womanly character that can distract others easily with these aspects.

OLD MEDIA Vs NEW MEDIA

In the third session, the topic was about the Old media Vs New media. In this concept the way of representation and communication is upgraded. But the concept is the same, “Media” people starts exploring in depth of the media that leads the generation of new media.
The name remediation itself says that the technology has no end. The people keep on generating innovative things. This has a role towards the society. Since the society also has a reason for technological remediation. The other things are to focus on the new media are Digitization and Convergence. Through this process, it grows with an infinite height

The main use of the new media is the digitization and convergence; through this we can know lot more in any of the form. For e.g..., when we are at home, television updates us all the information or else internet updates everything whatever the people needs. When we are out of our residence mobile phones updates us, when there is no internet in the phone, we come to know about multimedia messaging service (MMS), short message service (SMS), these are the source that keeps us updated.
How the old media is different from new media. For instance before twenty five years there were no electronic books. If they want to have a reference they should move to library and refer but these days like e-books and internet has come for references and all purposes. To conclude media is like the daily routine days which keeps on moving where there is no end to that it keeps on going, like that is the media it can’t be stopped it keeps on generating new ideas and technology which are useful for our daily essentials.

VIRTUAL REALITY

In this, we are going to see about the virtual reality and the way it has perceived through different persons. According to my perception, the virtual reality is not the matter of outer world, or the society but it is present in every individual mind’s. For example people around the world know something about the extinct animal, let us consider dinosaurs but they don’t know about that physical structure and importance of that animal. Everyone got an idea about the animal after seeing the movie Jurassic Park. Only in this movie, they have made the dinosaur into virtual reality though some camera techniques and they made it move through motion capture techniques.
Now we can know that the reality can be sometimes being real or representing to be reality. According to some individual the virtual reality can be thought and structured in the mind but it can be implemented towards the society. Our mind is one of the creative parts in our human system, which does not have any rules or conditions, or there is no bound, it can think in all the directions. They can develop infinite things and objects with no restriction. According to Jaron Lainer, says that “The Imagination is dead: only the technology is real. The visions are bereft, but the point is that the technology will supposedly, let us experience them as if they were real”. This can be accepted up to certain extend. Since the technology gives the root cause for the reality, then what is the root cause for the technology? It is only the people are the root cause for every technological resource. We can’t say that the imagination is dead; some people may think that if their imagination has not yet come in reality it is dead. We cannot say that every ones imagination is coming true. In some situations it can be only being imagined that only will be better than reality.

CYBERSPACE

We can define Cyberspace in different ways, for instance the ability of thinking in different perspective in our mind is to be Cyberspace. It is an unbound; where there is no light and water, it is fully an imaginary world where only our virtual objects exist. The imagination can be of any type - color, size, shape, gesture, appearance, ways of moving etc...,
This is the place where an individual animate their dreams. They give a physical appearance to their imagination only in this place. Even their animating methods have different ways in media is to reach the public.
Everyone has their own cyberspace in their mind. Generally, our brain makes us to imagine the structure, what ever we trying to obtain is more powerful process than other. In the session two, is the birth and death of the cyberspace. In that it says that, “These days the boundaries between the reality and cyberspace are increasingly blurred and the activities on the web are becoming more wider and even integrated with reality…..” we cant say everything are obtained into reality, since its their dependency. Everything is caused only by the thoughts; thoughts are the one which moves faster than any other thing. The ability to divert their mind is done only through this thought.
In cybernetics as said by Weiner “the science of control and communication, in the animal and the machine” likewise, creating an object in cyberspace is different from producing that in the real form. The both can be executed, but it is purely based on an individual’s efficiency.
